What is on my mind today? Not an SEO title

Me – “I’m going to go make my millions.”
Grandma – “In your dreams. You going to go take a nap Paul?”
Me – “Yep.”

Got home from work at a reasonable time today, and I tried to get a Michael Jackson video I filmed in HS onto my laptop to edit and post on youtube. It’s a no go. Apparently there is no firewire port on my new macbook! I feel ripped off. I just assumed it had that. The new macbook pro’s all have Firewire 800 ports on them but this one doesn’t have anything. It made me sad. :( Now I have to download something to capture the video on my desktop.

I’ve tried a couple times now to convert Knowing to a playable format for my PS3 and it keeps coming out all staticy. The picture is 1080p but the sound sounds like white snow. I’ll try one more time before giving up and just watching it on my PC.

Really really weird feeling. As some of you know I completed my first book in 5 years this past weekend. It took me 7 days to read because I was really into the book(I’m slow). The book was The 4-hour Workweek, and in the last chapter of the book, he suggests some other books to read. Based on the number of pages in the book, and how long it took me to read his book, I am itching to start one of these others. They aren’t very long and it should only take me a few nights to read. I am a terribly slow reader, but maybe I have speed up some. 7 days is by far the fastest I’ve ever read a real book.

The suggested book I plan to read is: How to Make Millions with Your Ideas: An Entrepreneur’s Guide. I figured it sounded like a cool book, and I have SOOO many ideas. I need to pick one and try it out. I have several Facebook app ideas, iphone app/game ideas, website ideas every week, and some tshirt ideas. Because I can’t seem to figure out and just pick one idea and stick with it, I do so many of them and it probably hurts my chances of success on all of them. Slowly I will get there and hopefully I learn something from that book.

An idea I got from The 4-hour workweek is to hire a VA, a virtual personal assistant to help complete tasks for me. I’ve thought of some great practical uses for one of these assistants and I plan to test this out this month. I will let you know how it goes and how much time it saves me and how much money it costs. If I can get the few things I am thinking of done, it would be well worth it for me.

That’s all for today.

Bank Interest vs. Google Adsense

shoemoney-adsense-check

This is a famous picture of Shoemoney’s monthly adsense check. Not mine but I am consistently making more money in Google Adsense revenue than I am on my Allybank account in interest each month. Not really sure what this means, its just an observation.

Bank interest rates have not stop falling since late 2007, meanwhile my random websites have been gaining small pennies in click ads over the past 2 years.

One of my sites, which is a host to funny pictures and video1, I plan to try and outsource the search for new content to India. An idea from the latest book I am reading called The 4-hour Workweek. I am blowing through this book faster than I’ve ever read a book before in my life. It’s that interesting. Keep in mind that I am NOT a very fast reader, and I haven’t completed a book in over 5 years. Most of my daily reading is through social media websites, and AIM. I am more than half way through the book, and I plan to finish it this weekend.

Reading the book, I’ve already thought of some great business ideas which I will try to implement. One quote from the book, that I find myself using as a pep phrase is tomorrow means never. If you think you are going to put something off until tomorrow, its never going to happen. Do something right now.

1. SEO tip: I used Funny Pictures and Video as my hyperlink to funny4me.com instead of using the text funny4me, as a way to target search engines to my site through keywords and not the title of my site.
