I went into the movie not knowing anything about it besides what I’ve heard people say about it. I knew the director made Titanic and other great movies and that it was 3d. I had no idea what the story was about. Three quarters of the way through the movie, I was engulfed.
We saw the movie at the Jordan’s IMAX theater in Reading. We got there about 40 min before the movie and there was already a long line of about 50 people. We ended up getting great seats, almost in the middle, 3rd row from the top. The 3D at IMAX is a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. I think they need to improve on the glasses or something. Some of the time the motion looks blurry and its hard to focus.
The movie being almost 3 hours long didn’t feel like it. The story was very grabbing and easy to follow. I thought from watching the trailers that it would look cartoon like, but it didn’t at all. It wasn’t exactly real life looking but it was a good mixture of both. I thought it was really well done.
I hope the movie makes back what it took to make because I heard it took something like 300 million dollars to make. When you have Titanic cash, I guess you can blow it all on 1 movie. I think it will make it back and then some, but I was pretty spot on with my box office predictions based on how hard/easy it was to get tickets for it. Transformers 2 and Spiderman 2 were a hell of a lot harder to get tickets for and they are among the top 7 top weekend gross of all time. I originally said it would do about 75mil, then changed it to 80mil. I think its pretty close to that.
The Hangover is going to be the most talked about movie this summer. It’s getting great reviews and for good reason. Zach Galifianakia and Ed Helms, also know as Andy Bernard from The Office, are hilarious in the film. Don’t download this or wait for the Blu-Ray, support this movie this summer and go see it. It’s a funny adventure from start to finish, and it’s only 1 hour 40 min. Not super long and it won’t take up your whole night or day.
From the trailer you might miss that Heather Graham is in the movie. Just wanted to point that out.
I gave this movie an ‘A’ rating based on yahoo’s rating system. It’s def outstanding, but not Oscar worthy. My only complaint is that I couldn’t hear somethings because of all the laughter. See it in a movie theater that is really loud so you don’t miss a beat.
James McAvoy stars in the film as Wesley. He is a nobody working in a cube as a account manager. He is approached by Fox, played by Angelina Jolie, who trains him to become one of the top assassins in a cult group called ‘The Fraternity’. The fraternity is a 1000 year old group with a goal to keep order in the world by “killing 1, save 1000.”
The movie was very entertaining packed with light humor, action and special effects. I would see this movie again in theaters it was that good. The story was awesome and it’s worth seeing. I am sure when the box office scores come out the movie will have made close to 100 million in its opening weekend.
As far a chick flicks go this is a good one. It was a cute story about a man, William Hayes, played by Ryan Reynolds, who is telling his young daughter how he and her mother met. It’s cool you don’t find out until the end of the movie who the girl’s mother is. It’s kind of like a puzzle.
I gave this movie a B+ rating on yahoo which is called “memorable.” I gave it a B+ because I would see it again and I will remember this movie. If you want to read more about the movie, visit the movie website at definitelymaybemovie.com.
I went to this movie knowing nothing about it, which is probably the best way to go into a movie. I knew this movie was supposed to be funny, but I didn’t know it was going to be anything like it was.
At first I was like “ohh yea… these guys,” the Happy Madison team always has dumb funny movies. The last one I saw was Grandma’s boy, which was also very unexpectedly funny. We saw this movie on opening night, Feb. 1st 2008, and it made nice crowd presence. Everyone in the theater was laughing so hard at each of these characters in the movie. They are all known actors and as soon as they were on screen you just laughed.
This movie was entertaining and hilarious, and for a full 87 min. If you liked Grandma’s Boy, Accepted, Superbad, Beerfest or any movie these actors are in, you will love it.
