2010 Drift Footage from my Audi S4

Been a bit. Have been getting back to my roots of taking photos and filming videos. I have some older drift footage that I would like to make into a video as well. I have started that and will complete that this weekend. This video should be a little teaser.

The footage is not that great. I forgot to zoom out and I forgot to set AF. It’s short though.

2010 Audi S4 or 500hp Audi S4

I loved this photo. Makes me want to buy a new camera and take cool photos of cars.

My 2001 Audi S4 is in need of a new clutch and new turbos. I have 86k on my car now and with a new clutch and turbos it could probably go another 50k with near 500 bhp. Sounds pretty fun to me, or my other option is to think about a new car. less maintenance and to stop modding my car. It’s becoming too much of a money hog and its very addicting. I feel like it might be nicer to break the habit.

The new 2010 Audi S4 is a 3.0li Supercharged engine putting out 333hp. My Current S4 is a Twin Turbo putting out about 350hp but with new turbos could be very close to 500hp.

What to do, what to do…

2.5 Inch Exhaust on my B5 Audi S4

I updated the video I posted yesterday because it was filmed at night and you couldn’t see anything. The video was unedited and really crappy looking. The new version, is filmed during the day so you can actually see stuff. I tried to edit this using iMovie on my MacBook, but imovie is so noob, that I don’t know how to use it. So I installed Final Cut and did it that way.

The video is still not very well edited. This is my first time using FC and it’s been 8 years since I’ve touched video editing software.

I don’t really care if the video does well on youtube, I made it for the people I know that wanted to hear what the JHM 2.5 inch exhaust sounded like on an Audi S4. In the video you will see that I need a new clutch pretty bad. After the first launch, or lack or launch, it smelt so bad. Lot of burning clutch. The second launch, I didn’t drop the clutch because it will probably hate me. Until I get a new VAST stage 3 clutch my launches are going to suck.

Enjoy the video, maybe soon, there will be another of my drifting my Audi this past winter in the snow. Check back soon. Thanks! Back to werking for coins.

This is the future of my car

This is on a JHM tuning on plane k04 turbos. I would think that this is on the “pure race” setting on 100+ oct. The goal of my car is to be very fast on 93 to be “pure street” fastest. I plan to get my turbo kit from JHM, and their FMIC kit as well. I will also be getting the Vast stage 2 clutch they sell, and True dual 2.5 inch exhaust.

I am thinking I should have JHM do my tuning as well. I have the APR chip now, which has stock, 93, 104, and vallet, but I never switch it. So there is no point. I would need only 1 setting for “pure street.”

Shooting for fastest, full interior, full weight, street B5 S4 on 93. :) haha we’ll see.

RS4’s are on for first big storm

Thanks Bill!

Bright White License plate LEDs

Inspired by Lexus and BMW I decided to upgrade my rear license plate lights to white LEDs.

I thought it was really cool that BMW and Lexus did that, and liked the way it looked. The LED’s cost 6 dollars each. Pretty cheap and I am very happy with the look.

In this picture it looks very different. It’s pretty bright looking but on the car it looks bluer or HID looking.

Samco Sport Silicone Throttle Body Boot (TBB)

I am waiting for some new clamps before I put this on. I have been noticing some miss fires and possible boost leaks. Audi’s stock TBB on the 2000 S4 was crappy. So they updated it in 2001 and made it better. Well that one still tore. I went the cheap route and got the Samco Silicone TBB for $68 over getting the APR Bi-pipe. The Bi-pipe is still not out of the question but it’s priced at $349 and requires a lot more work than this does. I figured I would replace this until I think about a different solution.

I almost got the Archtuning version 2 TBB because it was more stock looking and also made of silicone. It comes with very nice clamps that I purchased separately for this Samco install. I also heard that with the Samco TBB you can’t fit the front engine cover. I like that cover and would like to keep it on there. So maybe I should have gone with that at $169.

I want to replace my head lights with the Valeo E-codes and when that time comes maybe I will upgrade to the APR Bi-pipe if I think I need it. The installation of the bi-pipe requires that you take off the headlight housing making it a good opportunity to upgrade while I’m in there anyway.

Porsche six piston Cayenne Big Brake Kit

bbk

I just received in the mail the Stage 4 Big Brake kit from ESCtuning: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&engine=2.7T&model=B5%20S4&submodel=&category=Braking&subcategory=ECS%20Stage%204

The kit comes complete with 13.9 inch crossdrilled and slotted rotors(352×32mm), 6 piston Porsche/Brembo Calipers, Porsche OEM brake pads by Hawk, and all nessesary hardware from ECS.

I plan to put these on in early spring for opening day at the track. I will have to upgrade my 17″ stock wheels to 18″ now. I will figure that one out when winter comes along in ‘08.
